that meme which is going around
I shall have more productive stuff to say later, but for now, this. I'll need distractions when I take breaks from Hegel.

Comment with a fandom and I'll tell you my:

One True Pairing Ship
Canon Ship
"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" Ship
"You are one sick bastard" Ship
"I dabble a little" Ship
"It's like a car crash" Ship
"Tickles my fancy but not sold just yet" Ship
"Makes no canon sense but why the Hell not" Ship
"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" Ship
"When all is said and done" Ship

You know my fandoms. Books and movies and stuff qualify as long as I remember them, but if it's something I've written for then I most probably remember it. :)

Uh, hi! Everything good on vacation? ;)

One True Pairing Ship: Zoe/Wash (yeeeah. Boring, I know.)
Canon Ship: Zoe/Wash. ;)
"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" Ship Mal/Inara. Sorry, I just never saw that. :/
"You are one sick bastard" Ship: Jayne/River? XD
"I dabble a little" Ship: Mal/Simon
"It's like a car crash" Ship: Mal/Jayne
"Tickles my fancy but not sold just yet" Ship: Simon/Kaylee.
"Makes no canon sense but why the Hell not" Ship: oh god Badger/Mal and/or Zoe? Just because it'd be awesomeness/awesomeness. lol.
"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" Ship: River/Jayne? Idk, seems like it's pretty popular to me but I don't see that.
"When all is said and done" Ship: since I can't possibly say Zoe/Wash, Mal/Serenity. ;) ;) ;)

One True Pairing Ship: Jack/Boone
Canon Ship: Des/Penny, or Bernard/Rose. Or Sun/Jin. Or Shannon/Sayid.
"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" Ship: a year ago I'd have said Jack/Kate. I learned to live with it. So. Claire/Jack? Claire/Sawyer?
"You are one sick bastard" Ship: Jacob/MIB, not that I -ship- it.
"I dabble a little" Ship: Miles/Richard
"It's like a car crash" Ship: Kate/Sawyer
"Tickles my fancy but not sold just yet" Ship: post finale Sawyer/Juliet probably.
"Makes no canon sense but why the Hell not" Ship: lol, Des/Sayid? Even if it DOES make canon sense imo. Boone/Charlie too, for all the interaction they had.
"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" Ship: Richard/Alex. Claire/anyone that isn't Charlie.
"When all is said and done" Ship: ORGY OF MAJOR PROPORTIONS. ;)

This is so spam Janie with comments day, JSYK.

I was hmmm about Miles/Richard, but then just suddenly fell in love with the ship.

As I never got the appeal of Faith-the episode probably.

Not to step on any toes and make wild/wrong/insulting guesses, but might it have something to do with it being a rather religion heavy ep? (Only in some ways not at all.) It's one of my favourites.
the female ghost of tom joad: supernatural castiel indeed confused..janie_tangerine on July 2nd, 2010 02:44 pm (UTC)
Hell, spam me as much as you want, today I'm so bored with my reading that I can totally do with all possible spamming. ;) Tbh I never SAW Miles/Richard before the finale but... hair plucking? Touching? Random smiling? I'M ON IT.

Mm, idk. You might have a point since I don't like Houses Of The Holy either (though that one is way less popular so I might have point not liking it lol) but I don't even think it's all because of the religion angle. I don't even think it's bad. Objectively it's a really good episode. It's just that it's very far from my top ten, I never got why fandom likes Layla so much and from what I remember (I didn't really have epic re-watches of it) the whole thing with her actually not being at least a bit angry about, y'know, probably dying in a short while, probably grated a bit. Then the religion part of that was pretty much heavy-handed and I generally dislike anything having to do with people granting to magically heal you (mostly because a at this point kind of ex friend of mine was in some church where they, according to him, 'healed people during ceremonies' and the only time I went there I was kind of disturbed, not to mention that he practically forced me hoping that I'd have an epiphany and convert or something xD) so yeah, it's probably another reason I'm not too crazy about it. But I'm not saying it's, like, crap of... eee, Family Remains proportions ;), objectively it's a good ep. It's just not stuff I usually like/care for and I just don't get why it's so popular, but to each their own. :D And fff, you're not stepping on anyone's toes and I'm not insulted at all. :)

(If you meant my former friend's church, yeah. :/ I actually think that I'm majorly crept out by half of that ep. because I started watching SPN like one month after I had to attend that and... yeah. Just no. :///) And with Buffy and Angel I was totally the most casual watcher ever so it's highly probable that either I never saw eps with her or I just didn't register her face... but then again I never watched any regularly. My Buffy obsessed uncle would be very disappointed... ;)

Ee, we're switching! ;)

One True Pairing Ship: Dean/Castiel. Then comes Dean/Sam. At this point let's go saying Dean/Sam/Castiel. ;) ;) ;)
Canon Ship: *cough* Dean/Castiel *cough* Chuck/Becky. ;) ;) ;)
"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" Ship: John/Sam. And Meg/Castiel. God, yes, Meg/Castiel, please NOT EVER.
"You are one sick bastard" Ship Castiel/Chuck, if you take 5x22 into account. I had to stop sort of shipping it after that. Pity because I liked the idea in the 5x04 verse at least. *cough* or Sam/Lucifer. Yes, that one definitely qualifies but I can't help it a little. ;)
"I dabble a little" Ship: Sam/Castiel
"It's like a car crash" Ship: Adam/anyone ;), future!Cas/future!Dean.
"Tickles my fancy but not sold just yet" Ship: Dean/Jimmy. Or Jimmy/anyone that isn't his wife.
"Makes no canon sense but why the Hell not" Ship: Ash/Andy. Come on. They'd make a hell of a pairing. XD
"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" Ship: Dean/Layla. Seems like it's the most popular between Dean's interests that appeared once or twice but I never got it. As I never got the appeal of Faith-the episode probably. *shrug*
"When all is said and done" Ship team free will OT3 orgy. I'll settle for Dean/Cas if not doable. ;)
missy_useless: future!casmissy_useless on July 2nd, 2010 12:49 pm (UTC)
Heh. I like the sound of Dean/Sam/Cas. But you already know that. Also: Cas/Dean and Sam/Dean are so canon, so you can totally name the former as your canon ship. ;)

Future!Cas/Chuck had potential, I agree. Sam/Lucifer is pretty sick and I like it. ;) And ooh, future!Cas/future!Dean is perfect for 'car crash ship' as well!

I always thought the popularity of Dean/Layla came from the actress. Isn't she in some other show? I don't really know her, but I think I've seen her on icons and stuff. Maybe it's an sorta crossover deal? Otherwise I can't really explain it, either.
the female ghost of tom joad: supernatural dean/cas i like past you <3janie_tangerine on July 2nd, 2010 03:15 pm (UTC)
Dean/Sam/Cas sounds like the loveliest orgy/threesome, doesn't it? ;) And lol, yay! It's just, DEAN TOLD CAS TO BLOW HIM! XDD and they're sexually codependent! I love my show that makes wrong ships canon.

It had, hadn't it? I just have to ignore that Chuck is, er, God, even tho I'm positive that in The End he couldn't have been. I'm okay with God dating fangirls, but God rationing toilet paper? That's a bit too much for me, lol. Sam/Lucifer is actually canon too, bless them. I can't help iiit. ;) Also yeah. I don't even ship f!Cas/f!Dean actively but it's pretty much the incarnation of car crash. *clings to f!Cas/present!Dean*

Yes, she's was in Buffy I think, or in Angel. Anyway, she was in something popular, which is totally a good point. I just never managed to see the point. Maybe because they didn't even kiss and it was platonic and stuff and she was dying and all of that, but I just never saw what was so special in the ship itself. :/
missy_useless: molly mcnamaramissy_useless on July 3rd, 2010 03:47 am (UTC)
But those ships aren't wrong! (At least not according to my definition of 'wrong'! Screw society! ;)) Unconventional and morally gray, perhaps, but not really wrong.

lol. Sam/Lucifer is canon. Like, it really is. I'll never not be O_O about that. Not that I mind. (And see, that's a pairings that's much more wrong than Dean/Sam or Cas/Dean. ;))

As I've said, I don't really see the appeal, either, although there are other pairings I like less. I might feel differently if I actually knew her from other shows. I mean, I even ship Molly/Sam and Molly/Dean, simply because I love Tricia Helfer - and there wasn't even anything romantic implied. She was a ghost, for God's sake! ;)

the female ghost of tom joad: supernatural luciferjanie_tangerine on July 3rd, 2010 12:01 pm (UTC)
Ah, for me they aren't wrong either. ;) ;) I'd just have a problem explaining shipping Dean/Castiel to my grandmother, but... there's a reason I don't explain that to her. ;) ;)

OH YES IT IS. They KISSED. At least. I still can't believe they did go there but... IT WAS A GLORIOUS MOMENT, in my head at least.

Lol yeah if I actually did watch either Buffy or Angel maybe I'd feel different too. Hell, then again I do ship Lucifer/half of the world just because of the lulzy Lost crossover factor. ;)
Hallie Jadeangelshandprint on July 2nd, 2010 01:12 pm (UTC)
Me agree with you 'bout Dean/Layla. I've never, ever, ever got it. At all.
Dean/Jimmy is "On really really special occasion and with the right writing just steals my heart and probably blows it" Ship to me. I've read only one Jimmy/Dean fic and you've got to check it out. It's called Try and Try Again by edenbound.
I got the same list of "I'll stab my eyes out" Ships plus Sam/Castiel. But Meg/Cas and Sam/Cas have happened so I think I'll just change it into "If I ever read more of this I'll stab my eyes out with a bunch of porks". I accidentally read one Sam/Cas fic and it's scarred me for life TT_TT. Some TFW OT3 work for me, as long as they don't start with Sam/Cas and leave Dean out. I just. Can't. Stand that.
And yeah for Ash/Andy.
the female ghost of tom joad: supernatural castiel #2janie_tangerine on July 2nd, 2010 03:21 pm (UTC)
Me neitheeer. I just don't-see-what's-so-special in it. At this point Dean/Cassie or Dean/Lisa has more sense, if you ask me, but well. To each their own.

Oh, thanks for the rec!! And well, I got one Dean/Jimmy (which was Dean/Cas too) last year for the secret angels II (here if you want to check it out) which was FANTASTIC in capslock, and I do like the idea (and I kinda wrote it once), but pulling off Jimmy as a character in general for me requires a certain approach and it doesn't always happen. But I do love poor Jimmy so. ;)

Weeell. Meg/Cas was ABOUT to happen, right? For myself, I'll be happy if they never meet each other again. It makes me gag just if I think about it. Sam/Cas, not so much. I mean, I see it in the cute/crack way and after the end of last season I do see it, but Dean/Cas remains my OTP so while I might occasionally want to dabble in that other one I don't really do it. Though well done Dean/Sam/Cas threesomes where no one is left out and everyone is happy are my favorite thing. ;)
Hallie Jade: naked!Casangelshandprint on July 3rd, 2010 10:26 am (UTC)
And I thought I checked out all Secret Angels fics o.O
*is going to read it, like NOW*
He, I liked it a lot when Cas lured the bitch and used her as a bridge. That was totally BAMF, but Cas/Meg? No thank you.
I am still hurt by that Sam/Cas fic :( The author made Dean such an ass, but he's not. You don't have to make him an ass to exploit the whole thing in Sam's POV and his feelings TT_TT. So in short I'm allergic to Sam/Cas in any sense except in occasional threesomes or in funny fics where Cas is paired with Dean.
the female ghost of tom joad: supernatural jimmy 2.0janie_tangerine on July 3rd, 2010 12:07 pm (UTC)
GO READ THAT! IT'S GORGEOUS! I love it sfm and at random times I go re-reading it and it always makes me feel so happy. ;)

Oh, Cas using her as a bridge was GLORIOUS. I just don't want them near each other from that point. ;) Actually I never liked Meg so I'm perfectly okay if I don't have to see her anymore altogether, but NEAR CASTIEL, NO. Thanks. :/

Awww, shock much? ;__; Yeah, I so get it. That sounds like a manual case of character bashing and you can totally write Sam/Castiel without having Dean seem an ass, ff. Which doesn't mean that I just don't get why aren't more people threesome-happy since it'd solve all problems. ;)
Hallie Jade: naked!Casangelshandprint on July 3rd, 2010 12:15 pm (UTC)
Hee, read it, loved it, commented on it and memed it :D
I got a trauma after reading that Sam/Cas fic, and thing is, I don't get it. The pairing I mean. I don't see any connection between them that can possibly make them OTP like Dean/Cas.
Thanks for the rec :)

YAY DEADWOOD! ;)

One True Pairing Ship: Jane/Joanie. ♥ secondarily, Sol/Trixie.
Canon Ship: well, the two up there are canon, but let's spice things up. Dan/Al and Merrick/Blazanov! ;)
"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" Ship: Hearst/Alma. Well, I was ready to stab my eyes out when it was about to happen, so. Generally Hearst/anyone would have made me sick, which is why I'm happy they never went exactly there.
"You are one sick bastard" Ship: errrr. Al/Wu? Though that's probably not that sick. Probably anything concerning Woolcott or whatsisname would go in the sick realm, except that I don't ship him with anyone. Okay, probably Al/E.B., but taken not really seriously. ;)
"I dabble a little" Ship: Trixie/Ellsworth. I still think it'd have been lovely, if it had happened. And Doc/Jewel.
"It's like a car crash" Ship: Seth/Alma. Or Al/Trixie in the beginning.
"Tickles my fancy but not sold just yet" Ship: Seth/Martha probably. One more season and I would probably have been sold on that.
"Makes no canon sense but why the Hell not" Ship: er, Seth/Wild Bill? I'll admit I thought about it for about two seconds.
"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" Ship: er, what it is that everyone loves? I wouldn't have an idea about this one. Probably Ellsworth/Alma if we're going with canon though. Not that I hated it though.
"When all is said and done" Ship: Jane/Joanie, I'll reiterate. ♥ Or Sol/Trixie. Oh, and absolutely Dan/Al. ;)
elliotsmelliotelliotsmelliot on July 2nd, 2010 03:25 pm (UTC)
These are great answers.

I love your favourite ships. I totally agree about Dan/Al and Merrick/Blazanov. I was always hoping got Doc/Jewel or Doc anyone! Seth/Wild Bill - I could see that. I think Al/EB would be hilarious! I'm intrigued by Al/Wu!
the female ghost of tom joad: deadwood trixiejanie_tangerine on July 2nd, 2010 03:39 pm (UTC)
Merrick/Blazanov was just so sweet! It was bonding over journalism! How can you not love it? ;) Also Dan/Al was totally canon, at least on Dan's part. Not that Al wasn't nicer to him than to everyone else... Al/EB would be a very twisted ship based on very wrong/crazed premises, but I can't help thinking it'd be fun. If not taken seriously. ;) Also Al/Wu were so best friends by the end, that's totally another one!

One True Pairing Ship: Frodo/Sam. ;)
Canon Ship: Faramir/Eòwyn, Gandalf/awesomeness.
"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" Ship: Frodo/Gollum was a good choice for that.
"You are one sick bastard" Ship: er, I read Faramir/Boromir because a friend of mine used to write it? Or, Saruman/Grima. ;)
"I dabble a little" Ship: Aragorn/Eòwyn
"It's like a car crash" Ship: Frodo/the Ring
"Tickles my fancy but not sold just yet" Ship: idek, Merry/Pippin? I ship them more as bffs than anything else though. While I see Aragorn/Legolas in the movies but in the books not really.
"Makes no canon sense but why the Hell not" Ship: considering that for me it -does- make canon sense, Faramir/Beregond. The problem is that even people who read the books most of the time don't remember who the latter is. ;)
"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" Ship: Aragorn/Arwen in the movies. In the book I was okay with it, but ewwww in the movies I just wanted her scenes to go away lol.
"When all is said and done" Ship: either Frodo/Sam or Faramir/Eòwyn. Or Merry/Pippin.

YES, YES, YES, IT'S HIM. And he basically saves Faramir's life and then when Aragorn says that he should go to Ithilien with Faramir, too, after they win he's all happy and stuff. Come ooon, they were so canon. But anytime I mention him people are like 'Beregond whut?' and I'm like 'JESUS YOU JUST CARE ABOUT THE MAIN CHARACTERS?' XD

Yeah. Ew. As I said, stabbing my eyes out with a spork. ;)

THAT. Also I'm pissed at PJ because originally it wasn't Arwen saving Frodo & co. in the first part, it was the elfish (is that even the adjective? Maybe it's elfin? Damn me having read LOTR in Italian..) awesomeness that was Glorfindel and they cut him completely. :/// and word about Eowyn, WHY. She's the badass of the two, dammit. ;)

Nope about the first two, yes about the third. Or well, I did watch some old Star Trek but the most I could tell you is that I shipped Kirk/Spock. ;)

One True Pairing Ship: Crowley/Aziraphale
Canon Ship: if you don't consider the former canon, then Newt/Anathema.
"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" Ship: Crowley/either Hastur or Ligur.

"Tickles my fancy but not sold just yet" Ship: Adam/Pepper
"Makes no canon sense but why the Hell not" Ship: Death/anyone. I mean, shipping Death is weird enough but he talks in capslock, dammit. ;)

EEE DT! Always glad to talk about it. ;)

One True Pairing Ship: Roland/Eddie. Which would be my #1 ship in all the time I shipped something, but I'm clearly a masochist when I choose them. ;)
Canon Ship: if not for the epilogue which still doesn't convince me and I had years to think it over, Eddie/Susannah. If not, probably Roland/Susan.
"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" Ship: probably Eddie/Henry. Thankfully it never went even close to happen.
"You are one sick bastard" Ship: Roland/Flagg. Yes, I went there. In book one, mostly. Then I conveniently jumped ship, no pun intended.
"I dabble a little" Ship: Cuthbert/Alain, which I still think was adorable. Or Roland/Rosalita. It's entirely possible that I like it because she's named after a Springsteen song, but.
"It's like a car crash" Ship: Roland/Susannah. Errr.
"Tickles my fancy but not sold just yet" Ship: I should probably go with Roland/Susannah again, even though Detta tickles my fancy more than her saner alter ego.
"Makes no canon sense but why the Hell not" Ship: Eddie/Cuthbert. Oh, the feast of snark such a pairing would be.
"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" Ship: Roland/Cuthbert? I just see them more as utter best friends and the slash potential totally fails me.
"When all is said and done" Ship: Roland/Eddie. <3 Or at least, if you shipped it totally had a all is said and done feeling, until the epilogue of course. *sigh* Though Roland/epically bad luck is totally a great contender.

Eheheh, Roland/Eddie is kinda my ultimate otp too... guess it makes me a masochist too!! Not convince by the epilogue either. It's not that i don't like it, but it sort of is a AU fanfic, you know? it's not canon for me i guess.
"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" Ship: ah yeah, Eddie/henry is a good choice but my answer is definitly Mordred/Roland... so many layers of wrong in this, ewwwwwwwwww!!
Roland/Flagg: well yes it totally had potential in the first book!! and i kinda dig Flagg... should i be ashamed?
OMG eddie/cuthbert... i would die from awsomeness OD, pure and simple!!!
But yeah, roland/eddie is THE when all is said and done ship, and it kinda breaks my heart every time i think of them... and since i started to read DT in 1998, my heart must be beyond mending now!
"Though Roland/epically bad luck is totally a great contender." truest thing ever my friend, truest thing ever...

Anyone who ships Roland/Eddie wins endless awesomeness points in my book, jsyk. ;) And yeah, the epilogue is too much the AU fanfic kind for me too, you said that perfectly. Also I'm still hung up over Eddie being like 'we'll see each other on the other side' when he died and then IT WASN'T THE SAME ONE. :/// I tend to ignore that too. Most times.

EWWWW oh God Mordred/Roland would have been even worse than Eddie/Henry, lol. There's a reason I probably didn't even try to go there. EWWWWW INDEED. Also jfc Mordred = perfect explanation of how you shouldn't write a character. He starts being like 'I'M ALL SO POWERFUL' and then it ends like that? Really? Please. ;)

Oh, I love Flagg. He's one of my favorite fictional villains ever, between DT and The Stand. I'll be ashamed of liking him with you! ;) But yes, he did sort of make sense with Roland... in book 1. Or something. Well, it's good for hate sex I guess.

Confession: I've been trying to find a way to do Eddie/Cuthbert seriously since I was still writing in Italian. Which was about... six years ago or something. I still didn't manage, but the day I do... and yes, they'd be like the embodiment of paired awesome. :D

I'm with you on wanting to cry whenever I think about them, too. :( And woah, 1998? You beat me, I started pretty much when book five came out and I cheated because I only had to wait six months between each book instead of years.

Seriously, when I finished I was like 'oh dear, poor bastard. That's the most cruel thing I've ever read.' *smishes poor Roland*
