I'm a meme sheep. True fact.
Also, I'll be studying all the afternoon and I need a reason to procrastinate, so.

Name a fandom, and I'll give you the scoop on at least three of my unpopular opinions related to that fandom.

And then we can fight with knives!

My icon is obviously not suited, but anyway. I'm crap with knives, but I know some judo. Still, let's do it nicely y/y? ;)

the female ghost of tom joad: supernatural castiel 5.0janie_tangerine on October 18th, 2010 12:51 pm (UTC)
Lol, Cas will have answers! And more than three I think. XD

1. Faith is, imo, the most overrated episode ever. And it's not because it deals with religion, but except for the awesome way they used the soundtrack I just can't see what makes it especially great. I mean, it's a good ep, but I just don't get the hype. Or Dean/Lyla. And it wouldn't even make my S1 top five. XD

2. On the other side, idk why everyone says that Route 666 is the worst episode ever. Okay, the killer truck was ridiculous and I was told to skip it when I watched S1 because it was so crap that it would make me think about quitting the show altogether. Then I watched it like years later and I was like 'this isn't half as devastating as I expected'. XD It's not like it'd ever get into my S1 top fifteen, but I still don't think it was THAT horrible.

3. I like myth arc better than MOTW and I don't think that S1/S2 were the peak of the show.

3b. I love S5. A lot of people I know said it was disappointing, but apart from some stuff in the finale for me it was great.

4. Sam/Gabriel: I don't get it. Or, I get it in theory in fic and as a side pairing to D/C if it's crack, but whenever I stumble into it on its own it's mostly fluffy and all OMG ILU and: a) the size difference will never make me take it seriously and b) imo they would hate each other. Fiercely. At least at the beginning. I just don't see the lovey-dovey side of it. Tbqh, if Gabriel had to get paired with a Winchester, I think that it'd make more sense if he got with Dean.

5. I like Castiel/MIsha more than anyone else. Period. Actually, in the entire run of the show, my favorite character never was Sam or Dean. (It used to be John, then it was Ash and then it was Cas.)

6. I love John. A lot. And I don't like that unless we're talking about young!John, whenever he's mentioned in the show lately it's not on any flattering terms. Alright, he was flawed. Alright, he did crap at bringing them up. And alright, he sucked at parent of the year both with them and with Adam. But he loved them. Heck, he sold his soul for Dean when he could have killed Azazel instead. :((

7. Meg: I hate her. Fiercely. In any possible incarnation. The first especially because the actress looks like a friend of mine and it creeps me out, but in general I hate her and when I heard she was back in S5 I was like PLEASE NOT AGAIN.

8. Jimmy = AWESOME. Most times everyone says he's boring and stuff but imo he's amazing. Like it's any news. XD

9. I didn't mind the Dean/Anna stuff happening. Actually, I kinda liked her until she went crazy in 5x13, and then I couldn't have cared less. But idk I don't get the Anna hate.

10, so I make an even number: I don't hate Jo either. I always liked her (right, her mom better than her), and I hated it when she died. And I hated it when before that ep everyone was hoping she'd die because it looked like she and Dean were kissing in the preview. XD (and I didn't even ship it but well, it's a question of principle. XD)

Phew. Done. XD

Aw man, who thinks Jimmy is boring? :(

I agree with pretty much all of this. Which is why I'm glad I mostly just hang out in my little clique group of friends where liking Anna and Mytharc is the norm.

On the other side, idk why everyone says that Route 666 is the worst episode ever.

True fact: I love that ep. Okay, not the actual storyline because racist monster truck? Lame. But Cassie and the idea that at some point Dean had an actual relationship with a person he wasn't related too? I love that. And I love her to pieces even though I think mostly what I love about her is stuff I made up in my head because let's face she only existed in canon for about fifteen minutes.

ITA on points 3b, 4, 7, 9 and 10 too. And 8 x infinity. JIMMY. He was amazing, how do people not like him? "The Rapture" just absolutely gutted me.

Faith is a favorite of mine. Idk, I think it's a pretty amazing ep. The Reapers, the music, the themes, and the cinematography of that ep is gorgeous. I loved the cinematography back in the early days. It's not as interesting now.

I like Sam/Gabriel, but not the fluffy stuff. It works best for me when it's more edgy and dark, when Gabriel's power is a big presence in the story. I will admit that the size difference between the guys is ridiculous.

Can't agree on #6 and I'm kind of fond of Meg and I'm not with you on #8 either. But I agree with 3, 9 & 10. I tried to decide if I like Castiel best of all, but I'm not sure. I'm fairly certain I'm as fond of Dean as I am of Cas, with Sam and Bobby right there behind those two.

1 - That's the faith healer episode, right? IDK, I thought it was awesome. I liked the music and the reaper guy because he reminded me of the movie Carnival of Souls. And just the general lolcrackiness of - a faith healer? Really, Sammy? But it's not one of my favorites or anything or one that I'm dying to watch again. I honestly didn't realize it was so popular. My knowledge of SPN fandom is minimal, lol.

2 - I was told to skip it when I watched S1 because it was so crap that it would make me think about quitting the show altogether. WUT. It's not one of my favorites either, but it's wasn't that horrible. And Cassie was awesome. Oh. That was the problem, wasn't it? OMG Dean actually had a REAL girlfriend? *shakes head*

3 - I actually don't prefer either MOTW or the myth arc over the other. I love both of them. I'm so not picky. :P

3b - AGREED. I loved S5. Loooooved it.

4 - OMG SOMEONE ELSE. I don't get Sam/Gabriel. I can't wrap my mind around it. I just - WUT.

5 - MISHA IS MY FAVORITE. And just, yes. Cas is hands down my favorite character on the show EVER. :D

6 - THIS. Sure, John wasn't Father of the Year but he was such a complex and interesting character.

7 - BRBDEFRIENDING. Ahhh, I keed. ^______^

8 - JIMMYYYYYYYY. People think he's boring? WUT. Poor Jimmy. :(

9 - LOL my feelings on Anna are like your feeling on Meg. And vice versa. :P

10 - I wasn't isntantly sold on Jo, but after a few episodes I loved her. I never shipped her and Dean, but what? Hoping she'd die because OMG SHE KISSED DEAN. If we killed every girl that Dean kiss there wouldn't be any chicks left on the show.

the female ghost of tom joad: chuck team bartowskijanie_tangerine on October 18th, 2010 02:12 pm (UTC)
That'd be awesome!

So let's see...

1) There was some point in S3 when apparently a bunch of people wanted to boycott the show because Chuck and Sarah had hooked up with two different people. It mostly baffled me. Also because while I think that Chuck/Sarah is lovely I didn't mind that they waited. It worked a lot better like that. Also while I do like it I'm not utterly invested in it. Which I guess might be unpopular? XD

2) Why did Anna ever had to get written out? She was so cool! I don't know whether it's a popular opinion or not but I miss her.

3) At times, I miss Emmett. Then I wonder what's getting into my head.

Not unpopular, or at least I think: I need the Jeffster album released. ;)
elliotsmelliot: Arrested Developmentelliotsmelliot on October 18th, 2010 02:53 pm (UTC)
Oh Emmet! He was fun. I miss Anna too. It was good to a have a girl in the nerd herd who was so cool.

I don't mind Sarah/Chuck, but I feel it should not be the driving force of the show. I get bored when it is drama factor in every episode.

Jeffster need an album!

[Vado in inglese per comodità XDD]

1. I love Jack. To pieces. I really do. Even if he cries. Also he was the one character who never disappointed me once in six seasons. I always trusted him to do something and he always did. He was reliable like that. XD

2. Sawyer/Juliet: I liked it in the season finale. For the rest? Did Not Like. It just never managed to work for me. Mostly because it felt forced and it seemed too smooth considering who is that we're talking about.

3. I started liking Ben when he was teaching about Napoleon in the alt!verse. Before, I liked him when he was Henry Gale and he was crazy. Then he became an evil mastermind and it was overdone. But that's mvho.

4. I actually liked Jacob. I didn't like the rest of that storyline though. XD

5. Exposé was, imo, not bad. I mean, it was crack. But Nikki & Paolo died, Boone and Shannon were there, Arzt was there and you had Island CSI! I just, idk but I like it.

6. I liked S3.

7. I didn't like S5. Especially the time traveling part. Also, the way Daniel died was the most stupid death in the history of television.

7b. I can't, for the life of me, get the point of Charles Widmore & Eloise Hawking. Separately or together. Idk if that one is actually unpopular.

8. My favorite woman in the entirety of the series still is Rousseau. Sorry, but you can't beat a crazy French chick who prepares traps and is way smarter than you even if she's crazy. (Also she totally got to almost make out with Sayid. I APPROVE.)
missy_useless: jackmissy_useless on October 18th, 2010 09:12 pm (UTC)
YES to 1, 2, 6 and 7! And I didn't hate Exposé, either. It's not an episode I will rewatch often, but I don't really get the hate. *shrugs*

1 - I had so many ups and downs with Jack over the seasons, but S6 made me love him again in ways I hadn't since the first season. He owned S6, imo.

4 - JACOB. I love him so much. I liked the rest of the storyline, but I will admit that it has some pretty weak moments. But I just loved Jacob and I have no real explanation for why other than the fact that Mark Pellegrino is very pretty indeed. IDK, it wasn't just that, I swear. :D

5 - Agreed, Expose is a fun episode! My only issue was that it kind of... came out of nowhere. But still. It was fun.

6 - ME TOO.

8 - Oh god, she'll always be one of my favorite LOST ladies too. ♥

Sure thing! I'm totally blind guessing at what's popular or not, though... also I never managed to see the last three eps because I can't bring myself to watch them (I'm sure I'll cry instead of feeling happy, and it was my happy place so... but one day I will), so any opinions aren't including the ending.

1) The coroner was the best out of the whole bunch.

Okay, no, that's untrue, but he cracked me up a lot and I thought the more of him was in an ep, the better.

2) I think that in the beginning of S2 there were a lot of complaints about it not feeling as lovely/fresh/good/whatever as S1 and idk but for me S2 was as awesome as S1 was. I never caught much of a difference.

3) I never really shipped Ned/Olive? Is that even unpopular? Idk but while I love them both fiercely I never rooted for it to happen. (Then I did an exchange and I was asked for Ned/Olive and I had to do a depressing fanmix.) Idk, I just shipped Ned/Chuck too hardcore I think. XD
ozmissage: PD. Chuck/Ned.ozmissage on October 19th, 2010 03:58 am (UTC)
ITA about s1 and s2, they were pretty much equally awesome as far I'm concerned. I actually may have likes s2 a teensy bit better (I loved Ned's twin brothers. That storyline just made me ridiculously happy.)

*hangs head*

I totally shipped Ned/Olive, but I have a serious best friends kink that requires me to ship all unrequited friend ships ever. ;)

Oh god lol this will be SO fun.

By the way: I quit it mid S3 and I watched just one ep of S4, so my opinions cover just that.

1) Sylar: most overrated character in the history of television. If they had been wise, they'd have killed him at the end of S1. From S2 onwards it was basically the Sylar show with the writers coming up with any possible stupid excuse not to write him off and jfc he was grating on my nerves by mid S2 and in S3 I just wanted to strangle him.

1b) I am the only slasher in the entire universe who, thus, didn't like Mohinder/Sylar. ;) Also, Sylar/Elle was the... I don't even know. The proof that some people should never write for TV.

2) S2 wasn't actually that bad, in retrospective. Hell, in comparison to S3 it was a masterpiece.

3) Isaac was made of utter awesome. Ted the nuclear guy was made of equally awesome.

4) I never got all the hype about HRG. I mean, he's/was a good character but I never saw the amazingness.

5) Poor Peter was actually lovely. Apart from his misguided S2 stint. But I always liked him. Even if his brother was more my thing. ;)

6) I only saw it in an ep of S4 so idk if this is unpopular, but Jesus, the whole thing with the circus made by people with special abilities looked just stupid.

7) Claire was nice in S1. After that I always had a strong desire to strangle her. That said, her boyfriend in S2 wasn't THAT bad.

8) Maja and Alejandro were only half a failure. Because as long as he was live, I would have totally been on board. Then they killed him and I couldn't care less. ;)

I also have a bunch of more negative opinions but I think that those ones are mostly popular. ;) ;) ;)

I love Isaac! I mainly started watching Merlin for Santiago Cabrera as Lancelot, and then he ended up being so underused - I'm starting to give up hope of him actually returning in S3!

I also don't think that Alejandro should have been killed, but at the same time I thought Maya was wasted after he died, more could have been done with her.

Why is it that I don't have an x-files icon? Ah well.

1) This is probably hugely unpopular, lol. But whatevs. I started watching the show when it was in S8 and it aired on tv here and so I just knew the premise, therefore I watched the parts with Scully/Doggett/Reyes before the Scully/Mulder ones and while it's no question that Mulder/Scully = you can't beat it, I liked those other two poor agents. They were my firsts! And everyone who had watched it from the beginning says the last two seasons were crap, but I can't just hate them.

2) Logical conclusion of 1, I actually liked the finale. Idk how unpopular it is but I think not much.

3) Aaand idk I never really shipped Mulder/Krycek? But I watched the whole thing when I was 12/13/14 and I didn't have an idea of what slashing was or fandom was. I'd probably be of another opinion re-watching it now, at least regarding this particular point. XD
