Lost 5x10 He's Our You
OMG. Like, OMG. Like, OMG. *is dead from the squeeage*

1. They seriously should realize they're better with the whole flashbacks device. Please stick to it.

2. The bit at the beginning was good. Even if of course, now we have the proof that Sayid... has daddy issues too! *rolls eyes* Can someone please tell me who does not have daddy issues in this show?

Sorry, that guy is so the average Italian-with-mafia-collisions person whose family would totally get a bounty hunter that it restores some faith in me that those idiots can actually do research.

4. Woah, Sayid really can stand the cold. Outside with only the leather jacket in Russia??? I've always known he was that awesome.

Team Sayid, I'm totally yours forever or something

5. Oh God. I loved this episode. And I love Sayid like woah. This was some of the best characterization they had lately. I absolutely loved that conversation with Ben at the beginning (when he asked what did he have to do? *sniffs*) and the whole you're-a-killer/no-I'm-not/yes-I-am thing made uttermost sense character wise. Wow. Even if now I wonder what'll be of him. I mean, he accepted that he's a killer and thinks he changed the future probably (ah, what irony, especially since if something sends Ben dark side it'll be this?), but what's in there for him now? Ah, Sayid, I love your angsty and tormented self.

6. Naveen Andrews is too good for his own good.

7. God, during that fake-torture part I didn't know where I had to turn. On one side I liked all the CM references and I thought that Josh did a great work in there because it was written all over his face that it was what he was thinking about, on the other side I was thinking that high!Sayid might be the cutest thing ever and then I heard what he was saying and I wanted to cry because 'because I'm a bad man'...? OH, Sayid. *heart breaks into tiny little pieces*

8. It makes sense that he shot Ben. If he knew he couldn't change the past I'm sure he wouldn't have done it, but here? It made sense. Of course he thought he'd have avoided a lot of trouble, but then again it's obvious that Ben's surviving. Of course he is. Argh, this is tragic.

9. I like the almost-sexing with Ilana. Can't care for her, not still, but I see the point of her existence. Also, I'm not sure she's not working for Ben or Widmore but whatever. Also, since she didn't have sex with Sayid, maybe she won't be doomed too soon.

10. Sayid drinks Widmore's whiskey! Well, the same brand.

See what I need to do to ship... *sigh*

Team eyefucking ftw

11. All the Sawyer/Sayid interaction? Gold. Pure gold. I loved Sawyer this ep. and how he was trying to keep stuff together and save Sayid's ass while keeping his position. Their scenes were very, very, very good.

Team quadrangle mess

12. I still like how they're dealing with things. I like that Sawyer hasn't dumped Juliet on the spot because that's what I was fearing. I like that he's having mature interaction with Kate, who of course had to be interrupted as soon as she was going to say why she came back. *rolls eyes* Writer's fault here of course.

13. Hurley gossiping = awesome. Still... when are they going to use him not for comic relief? *sigh*

14. Jack just looked pretty this round but it was awesome that Kate was like 'and you're going to let Sawyer do as he wants?' and Jack is all good and relaxed and ''course I am, just give me some more food'. *snickers*

15. The Kate/Juliet scene was good too even if of course promo = misleading.

Team everything else

16. The van on fire was obviously young!Ben's doing, right?

17. And the guy who was almost killing him for bringing Sayid the sandwiches was his dad, right? I can't remember the guy's face but I'm sure he was around.

18. Also, was I the only one thinking that Ben making sandwiches and supposedly not knowing how to make one = Juliet in S3 making hamburgers? Scratch it, that's just me overthinking stuff.

19. Dharma people are the worst kind of democrats, huh? And Amy = shut up. Blah.

20. God, Radzinsky is insufferable. The only thing that makes me puzzled is that if he blew his brains up when paired with Kelvin then Kelvin must have been worse than him, which in turn means that Desmond really has the patience of a saint. Well, that was contorted but whatever.

21. I still don't believe that when Michael Emerson was supposed to be Henry Gale they had thought about him knowing them all from before. But it's a cool twist. I want to see how it plays out.

22. I liked Sayid not wanting to take that plane. Even if I still can't understand why he wouldn't want to go back. I mean, it's not like his O6 life hasn't sucked until now apart from Nadia but whatever.

23. In short OMG I LOVED IT and with last week's best-episode-of-the-season-indeed and Sayid, I'm kinda yours.

24. Even if I miss Desmond like woah.

25. I'm sure I had something else to say but I kinda forgot it. Ah well. Maybe it's still the shock of His Prettiness being cast in something which has clouded my brain.

26. ETA: It had indeed because how couldn't I recognize J.F. Sebastian from Blade Runner being Dharma's torturer??? *headdesk* My mind was clouded by Naveen's awesomeness I guess. How could I not recognize him on the spot? I knew I had seen him somewhere but I hadn't realized!! Where are the toys, and where's Roy Batty? ;) ;) That was so awesome!!

I watched a few clips of this episode on youtube. Sayid is so angsty crazy hot. If I was still a fan I'd hate them for making Sayid do something so grossly unforgiveable as kill (or attempt to kill) a child. But I don't care anymore. So I can just appreciate the surface level of wooooah! Naveen is hot and devastating.

I like young!Ben way more than older Ben. Sorry Emerson (you get enough praise anyway), but that kid is a really good actor. I'm kinda into the Ben-Sayid ship of doom. So Ben fucked up Sayid first in his timeline, but then Sayid went back in time and fucked Ben up as a child. That is an interesting circle of hate, trauma and revenge they have going on there. Of course, I love Sayid for trying to change destiny even though he can't and even though he did something evil in his futile attempt. At least someone is trying to rebel against predestination.

Yeah, it seems like Sayids "fate" to be a bad guy and a killer. Just like it was Charlie's fate to be a failure and victim. Losts universe chooses some shitty destinies for my favs. I hate it. The universe needs to be destroyed somehow.

Other than that the Quad is garbage and Hurley needs a storyline that isn't stupid or food centric. And where did all the other characters go? It's like the S3 mini again when the rest on the cast are bumped to the sidelines so the show can be all about the dumbass love shapes.

But yeah, Sayid is pretty, even when evil...
the female ghost of tom joad: lost sayid *g*janie_tangerine on March 26th, 2009 12:43 pm (UTC)
If the kid hadn't been Ben I'd have been probably objecting more and I have to say that I like young Ben more than old Ben too (the kid is incredible) but considering that he was Ben who is practically the only character that I can't stand to see lately and that I stopped objecting to this kind of stuff ages ago? I appreciate.

And Naveen is devastatingly hot!!! *dies and agrees* The whole hate circle thing is interesting and yeah, good props to Sayid for trying and change stuff too. Of course it won't work but hey, he tried.

Losts universe chooses some shitty destinies for my favs.

*raises hand* Don't tell me about that.... I seriously think I need Vincent to become my favorite character, except he's lost in time or something. Blaah. Ah well, they screwed up way less than I'd have thought until now.

Word about Hurley and the quadrangle. I think that everyone else is arriving soon though, I read the press releases. ;)

And hey, I'd give a hand right now to have the only part of the S3 mini which wasn't quadrangle related *coughcoughcoughcough* *Further Instructions* *cough*.

*sighs happily over the pretty overload*
falafel_musings: lost/charliefalafel_musings on March 26th, 2009 12:59 pm (UTC)
If the kid hadn't been Ben I'd have been probably objecting more

I still object over the Ben shooting. Yeah, Ben ordered my Charlie's death and I'm still objecting to this. Because the Ben that Sayid shot wasn't an evil sadist. He was an innocent little kid. It was understandable because Ben had driven Sayid crazy by that point, but now Sayid has done something to Ben as a child which is probably the reason Ben is crazy as an adult. That is an intense circle of hate revenge. I kinda like it. It's certainly the most (only?) interesting story I've heard coming out of Lost S5.
the female ghost of tom joad: lost charliejanie_tangerine on March 26th, 2009 01:08 pm (UTC)
You do have a point. I don't like the fact that the kid wasn't an evil sadist and I'd probably object more if a) I didn't know all of the backstory, b) Naveen hadn't acted it like it was clear that he thought he had to do it but it was out of resignation to what he thought was his duty, c) this season hadn't spread my Ben dislike up thousands. But it's an interesting storyline and I like how twisted it is.
falafel_musings: BSGfalafel_musings on March 26th, 2009 01:14 pm (UTC)
I feel Darlton are using the whole "Would you go back in time and kill Hilter as a baby?" dilema. Yes, maybe it would save many many other lives, but how can you ever justify killing an innocent child? You just can't.

Can someone please tell me who does not have daddy issues in this show?

Vincent and the Smoke Monster, so far as I know. ;) Seriously, it sounds like a good episode - I almost wish I'd watched it!
the female ghost of tom joad: lost -> generaljanie_tangerine on March 26th, 2009 12:45 pm (UTC)
You can d/l it! ;) Seriously, it's a pretty overload and you don't need to have watched the rest I think. It was a good ep. indeed, probably the best one this season. And there was a lot of pretty. Maybe you could search some scenes on youtube? ;)

And oh, Vincent and Smokey! Good catch. I'd say the polar bear too but he's dead, sadly.

Agree re Vincent and Smokey ...um, Nikki and Paulo? Libby?

I hope we get to see Miles backstory soon, and Frank. Do we have to have another Kate episode next week, she's had her turn!

noooo LJ ate my comment!!

*starts typing again*

1.*nods* I loved when they changed it at first because it was knew, but they are much better at this.

3. LOL.

5. Sayid was great. He looked so lost when he said that line, and over his own killer nature or not... heartbreaking, but also very well done.

7/8. Sawyer was great too. And the eyefucking reached very high levels!

12. I am surprised by how well they are handling this. I also loved that Juliet asked Sawyer right away if they were over, instead of not communicating - as is a rule on Lost.

13. I loved Hurley in this, but you are right, he deserves something better.

14. oooh, I forgot to comment on this! I was so happy that Jack trusted Sawyer without a doubt!

16/17, Yes (at least, I think so) and yes.

18. I noticed a weird parallel in that, but I have no idea if it means anything.

21. I don't know if they knew, but at this point it doesn't matter, because they pulled it off beautifully, imo. (Only, what about Jin? Although at the time he didn't speak English so maybe it would have been pointless to take him...)
the female ghost of tom joad: lost -> generaljanie_tangerine on March 26th, 2009 02:44 pm (UTC)
1. Seriously, let them keep it that way!!

3. Hey, he's our representative!!! ... well, not much luck I'm afraid.

5. Wasn't he just? *dies*

7/8. Indeed!! Eyefucking is good. Really, really good. ♥

12. Seriously, what's with that??? I'm surprised!

13. I think he has something to do in episode 13 from the press release but really, please, something before would be good too.

14. YES! Go Jack! ;)

18. I wasn't the only one at least, but it can't really mean anything, right?

21. Yeah, that. I don't think that Jin ever was in the hatch if I remember right though.

Yay for the episodes being actually good!! Aah, yes, you're so right about the flashbacks!

OUTLAWS!!! *DIES* Sorry, were saying? Anyway, yeah, Sawyer was great here. And fuck indeed, OF COURSE as soon as she was telling him they had to fuck that up. Ben, what timing! *rolls eyes* Well, guess we're finding out next episode anyway but I wonder if she'll actually tell it or if it's going to be flashback stuff only.

YES, WRITE FIC! *goes patiently waiting in her corner* Seriously, what's with this sudden care in dealing with the quadrangle? I'm surprised! Well, pleasurably surprised of course. I think I believe Kate/Juliet too, the whole acting out was very mature and I'm very pleased with that. (and slash them!) Good point with Jack. ;) *glomps him with you* Jack loving is good! ;) ;)

If they manage to reunite with the people in their own time then Sayid will end up seeing her again... if he doesn't die before but really, I don't think he's going anywhere. Or at least I hope.

And oh, I totally agree about the awesomeness of Ben's story. And about the character being good and I actually like young!Ben. I just can't stand him and he makes my moral compass actually point north but I totally agree about that. ;)
Janice: sayidjaydblu on March 26th, 2009 03:22 pm (UTC)
Damn, if I hadn't already, this episode reiterated the fact that I love Sayid with the fire of a thousand suns.

#5 & 6- I know. Tormented, angsty, hot. I think my poor heart hurt for him in that first scene with Ben after he was told that all his killing was done. I mean, not that he should kill, but what was he to do besides come to my house for some comforting? He had nothing.
#7- The torture scene pulled at me too, between Sawyer's inner conflict, and Sayid's being all drugged and truthful and bound...
#8-I was completely clueless about him shooting Ben. Yay for surprises.
#11- Oh, I agree, the scenes with Sawyer and Sayid were very satisfying. Mmm hmmm.
#12-15- I too appreciate the fact that this is not the quadrangle show. I love the fact that Jack was just eating his breakfast, minding his business, hanging out. And yeah, Juliet will cut a bitch if Kate messes with her man.

Like I said, I avoided spoilers, so I was really concerned for Sayid all episode, so it was a relief that he was still around. My friend at work and I were discussing the leather jacket he was wearing with lusty smirks, 'cause yeah.

the female ghost of tom joad: approvedjanie_tangerine on March 26th, 2009 05:28 pm (UTC)
I DO TOO! *LOVES SAYID LIKE WOAH* Seriously, I'm thankful that he always was my back up favorite character. ;)

Oh, yes, he really is tormented, isn't he? *hugs* One wouldn't be surprised that he went building schools in Santo Domingo *rolls eyes*.

That torture (?) scene was really well done. And ha, I was spoiled about him shooting Ben. But last year spoiling myself ended up being a good policy and I'm fine with knowing already. ;)

Mm, slashing ahead? God, these two last episodes were too much stuff at once!

I'm surprised at how good they're handling the quadrangle! *makes wide eyes* And yay for Jack minding his business, he looks fine like that and I'm glad too. ;)

At this point I think that Sayid isn't biting it until the end. Seriously, I was so worried for a while that he'd be the next, but considering that he made it this far and he was still alive at the end of this episode I'm seriously thinking he isn't biting it anytime soon. Let's hope.
Janice: sayidjaydblu on March 26th, 2009 06:29 pm (UTC)
That torture (?) scene was really well done.
Oh I know. It wasn't much torture for him, and I certainly didn't feel tortured. ;)

Mm, slashing ahead? God, these two last episodes were too much stuff at once!
That's all I'm saying! Someone needs to get on that at once!

Lou: Lost - Bengottalovev on March 26th, 2009 05:23 pm (UTC)
yes, yes and more yes! how is sayid coming back from this though, huh? gah. the angst will be epic.

I agree that they are not messing too much with the quadrangle yet. cool. Jack just shrugging really pleased me! I could learn to love that Jack again =D

btw, yes the guy who hit Ben was his dad. and yes, I am sure the van on fire was Ben's doing too.
the female ghost of tom joad: lost sayid *g*janie_tangerine on March 26th, 2009 05:30 pm (UTC)
I don't think he ever is until someone tells him that he can't change things and he realizes that it was there all along. I think. Maybe. God. *squishes* Someone needs to get Desmond alone on that island so I can properly slash them and make him feel better. -nod-

I'm cool with the geometry too by now. Jack shrugging was made of winning material!!

Oh, thanks for that. I was sure he was good old Roger but I couldn't remember right.
L: {lost} jack/juliet; the good timesneated on March 26th, 2009 05:32 pm (UTC)
I loved the Flashbacks. Seriously Lost go back to where you come from...

The Kate/Juliet scene was good too even if of course promo = misleading OMG I felt so stupid there. I thought there was more to come and then this? Gosh maybe I should stop watching these promos...

Even if I miss Desmond like woah. I saw Henry in the credits and squeed like whoa, but where was he. I thought he was in the scene where Ben visits Sayid in Santo Domingo, and then it's only Ben... HUGE LETDOWN...

the female ghost of tom joad: lost jack/julietjanie_tangerine on March 26th, 2009 05:35 pm (UTC)
More than that, the promo only had Juliet telling her to stay away so it came off completely wrong. Meh. Promos are misleading indeed.

Seriously, if he had been in that scene... OMG! I'd have died and gone to heaven. Sadly... *sigh*
