three lost ficlets (all jack/juliet) for the alphabet meme
Title: Hunger Strike
Rating: PG
Pairing: Jack/Juliet
Words: 329
Summary: Jack’s lips are thin and forceful upon hers, the opposite of that first time which was also the last until a minute ago; he kisses her like he’s starving for it and she can’t not meet it, not when she has hoped for this for… three or thirty years. Doesn’t matter.
Spoilers: for 5x13, Some Like It Hoth.
Disclaimer: not mine. I wish. I wish..
A/N: for prettybutt who wanted kiss. Title blatantly stolen from Temple Of The Dog.

He had to fall from the sky and turn her life upside down when it was at its most miserable, and then get back into it the same way when it actually was somewhat working.

Or maybe it wasn’t.

Maybe she really hadn’t moved on; what she knows is that Sawyer is helping Kate bringing Ben to his salvation (and their doom, probably) because she asked him to and she’s up against the wall of the room in the school where they teach first grade, Jack’s mouth on hers, her wrists pinned under his hands. She hadn’t even put up much of a resistance, much to her shame. Not that it matters.

Jack’s lips are thin and forceful upon hers, the opposite of that first time which was also the last until a minute ago; he kisses her like he’s starving for it and she can’t not meet it, not when she has hoped for this for… three or thirty years. Doesn’t matter.

His tongue plunges into her mouth and she literally jumps on him; her legs hook around his waist, knocking down that broom he uses to mop the floor. Her hands grip his jumpsuit as he holds her up; his hand which isn’t behind her back creeps under her shirt. She sighs and moans into the kiss, feeling horrible and ashamed because she should stop this, but she won’t, and if he’s starved for it, then hunger was killing her. She wants to touch him everywhere and push him away and curl into him on a bed and she wants for him to suffer because he left and allowed her to fall for someone else when she never had the chance to be with him before moving on.

And then it slows down and his lips move with a certain reverence and they tremble; hers do, too, as she crushes him to her and the long, strong fingers of his hand tangle and thread in her hair.

End.

Title: The Week Before Moving Day
Rating: PG
Pairing: Jack/Juliet
Words: 339
Summary: She gives a good tip to both the workers who brought the bed up to the sixth floor; when it’s set, even if bare of everything except the mattress, she looks at it fondly, as it stands alone in what will be their bedroom in a short while.
Spoilers: meh, this is a total AU where they were all rescued in S3. Or something. Just pretend S4/5/the 3 finale never happened.
Disclaimer: not mine, this would happen.
A/N: for coffeecrisp7, who wanted empty and I promptly used an angst prompt for shameless romance. But I couldn't do angst anymore.

Jack is at work when the bed arrives; she takes the afternoon off to be there.

The whole apartment (not too big, not too narrow) is completely empty; nothing that surprising, since they had to do some reparations before moving in and electricity still isn’t working. But they had wanted the bed to be there first before moving at all.

She gives a good tip to both the workers who brought the bed up to the sixth floor; when it’s set, even if bare of everything except the mattress, she looks at it fondly, as it stands alone in what will be their bedroom in a short while.

After some two minutes, she decides that it’s time to get down to work and opens the suitcase she brought with her. She takes out a set of sheets, a light cover and a couple of pillows. She knows it’s all wasted time because they’ll have to remove them when it’s time to move, but she just can’t resist. She makes the bed carefully, the light blue of the sheets pairing the lilac of the cover. When it’s done it looks lovely, she thinks. It’s a splash of delicate colors in the otherwise bare room and she just can’t wait to spend her nights here permanently.

She takes out her cellphone, noticing that it’s getting dark and she really should go, there won’t be light anymore in a short while, when someone knocks on the door. Well, of course, the doorbell still doesn’t work.

Juliet opens the door to find Jack in front of her, wearing his black suit with that red shirt she’s especially fond of, a couple of bags of Chinese take-out in his hands.

“Hey.”

“Hey. I thought we could just… well, spend the night here. You made the bed, right?”

“Yes, but you know there’s no electricity, right?”

“Why, do we need it?” he asks smiling just slightly, and Juliet shakes her head and kisses him slowly as he gets in and closes the door behind him.

End.

Title: Eighteen-Hour Drive
Rating: PG
Pairing: Jack/Juliet
Words: 505
Summary: I wanted to ask you to take the rest of the day off and go with me to Seattle.
Spoilers: argh. This implies that Nirvana!Jack happened but that S5 never happened. Just let's pretend they rescued them normally and go as AU as possible.
Disclaimer: not mine, this would have happened already-
A/N: for neated, who wanted notice. This is definitely not what you were expecting probably. *hides* By the way, if the reference was obscure, Sub Pop is was Nirvana's first record company (and well, actually the first record company of every serious grunge group I guess, or almost).

Juliet is doing her paperwork on a pretty calm Friday, half an hour before her lunch, when the door of her office opens and Jack gets in, looking less tired than usual and still in his scrubs.

“Hi. Aren’t you on shift?” she asks, a bit surprised. Sometimes he joins her at lunch, but he usually is busy, at this time of the day.

“Yeah. But it’s a slow day. Right?”

“I can’t say the contrary. So, you wanted to drop for a chat?”

“Yes. No. I wanted to ask you to take the rest of the day off and go with me to Seattle.”

What?”

“Why not? We get on the car now, we’re there in one day.”

“And why would you want to go to Seattle?” she asks even if she knows the answer well enough.

“Oh, come on, I’ve been telling you I wanted to go there since we were back.”

“Yes, to go visit the Sub Pop of all places?”

“Well, that specialized record shop I’ve told you about too, actually. I just want to visit, you know.”

“And you want to go now.”

“Yes, now.”

“Fine. Who are you and what have you done with Jack Shephard?”

“It’s me. Really. Come on, it’s a vacation.”

“It’s a eighteen-hour drive if we get lucky.”

“I know.”

“We’re not college students.”

“Never said we were.”

“I don’t even like grunge music.”

“There’s the coffee.”

“We didn’t pack.”

“We have something in the locker room and we can pick whatever else we need on the way.”

“Jack, it’s completely short notice. You never do anything on short notice.”

“There’s a first time for everything.”

“You’re really serious.”

“I am. Come on, you know you want it.”

And the problem is that he’s serious; Juliet still doesn’t get how can Jack like grunge music, but he’s smiling at her and it’s almost contagious and before she knows it she has made the call and her weekend is free.

He waits for her on the doorstep; she raises an eyebrow and she’s still unable to stop smiling.

“I can’t believe we’re doing this. You drive, I hope.”

“Sure. So, see you outside in fifteen minutes?”

She nods and can’t help smiling as he pulls her in for a kiss which lasts longer than it should; she knows that maybe he’s also half-apologizing because grunge is what she’ll hear on the car until they get to Seattle, but in truth, what’s in comparison with that delicious shot of adrenaline running down her back? She hasn’t done such a thing since she went on one similar trip with Rachel ages ago, they still were students, except that they had gone to Graceland and it was pretty much a letdown. Well, this time it might not be, and she really can’t complain if Jack finally understood that short notice isn’t definitely a bad thing. And if she gets tired of grunge, which is probably going to happen before they even get there, he’s right, there’s still the coffee.

End.

I don't think I've ever read your Jack/Juliet before and now I'm wondering why! These are absolutely fabulous! I love the first one, and the fact that they were in the first grade classroom made me smirk. The second one was the sweetest thing ever and it was quite unique, I can't say I've ever read a fic about someone getting a bed delivered ;) The third one was my favourite - I love the idea of them going on a road trip and I really enjoyed the off-island relationship (in the second on as well). I had forgotten how much I liked Jack/Juliet, thank you!!

Oh, thanks so much, you're too nice to me really!

Ha, first graders know more than they let on, right? I just wanted it to be as awkward a location as possible. ;) It's too good to hear about the second because I was seriously worrying about overdoing the sweet stuff, but it's not like they're getting many lately. The third... hee, I have a thing for it. Especially because I like grunge!Jack but I just couldn't resist it. Thank you so much again!
