fic, Chuck: Plain Awesome (Ellie/Awesome), PG
Title: Plain Awesome
Rating: PG
Pairing: Ellie/Awesome
Words: 487
Summary: Now, according to Devon, Ellie is what you’d call the embodiment of awesome in every possible sense; hell, at times he wonders why they call him Awesome and not her, and his fondness for the word shouldn’t have zilch to do with it.
Spoilers: meh, general S3? Nothing specific though.
Disclaimer: Chuck isn't mine, Bryce would've been a regular.
A/N: originally written for rayruz for the Five acts meme with food as a prompt. First time I write the pairing, er. Title sucks, I know, but I have no imagination.

Now, according to Devon, Ellie is what you’d call the embodiment of awesome in every possible sense; hell, at times he wonders why they call him Awesome and not her, and his fondness for the word shouldn’t have zilch to do with it. Then again, he wouldn’t have set for anything less than an awesome girl, and she’s that and more.

And there are things he likes to do with her. Well, wait, everything he does with her except for arguing (and they’d argue a lot less if only Chuck would tell her that he’s a spy, but the less Devon thinks about it the better, because he hates to lie to her and he just doesn’t want to deal with it unless he’s forced to) is awesome, but there’s something he likes best out of everything.

It’s related to her cooking, even if it’s not strictly that. Because come on, liking a person best for her cooking? Now that’s everything but awesome.

No, it’s what she does sometimes with her cooking. She’s good at it, she’s actually great at it (just not to reiterate the same a-word), and sometimes, before he gets home (when she gets there first) she will bake something. Maybe cookies, maybe a small cake; always something sweet, though. She’ll leave it on her nightstand and she’ll take it out when he joins her in bed in the evening (unless they have to attend to awesome business, and in that case she takes it out after); and after she does, they’ll just lay there sharing it. It’s not just the fact that what Ellie bakes is freaking delicious, but it’s also that it feels so intimate, so good to do this with her. Sometimes they actually feed each other small pieces of cake, sometimes he’ll kiss crumbs off her lips, sometimes she’ll lick chocolate off his, and in between they’ll touch each other casually, nicely, not necessarily leading to something else (though hey, it can happen and he never says no when it does; because that time with the whipped cream on the apple pie? Oh, that was beyond awesome) and well, great if it does. It makes him feel closer to her especially when they don’t get to see each other too often (which is another reason he’s pushing for Doctors Without Borders), and it just makes her so happy that he doesn’t really think there’s much that feels better than catch with his tongue the strawberry juice occasionally falling down her chin.

So yes, there are a whole lot of reasons he loves Ellie, but this is definitely the one he likes to do with her best. He’s pretty sure she’s of the same idea too. Or otherwise, well, those three or four books full of baking recipes wouldn’t have steadily appeared in the house out of nowhere.

And you know what? He can’t help thinking it: it’s just plain awesome.

End.
