partial recover of a livejournal fail, plus stuff
1. So, apparently last day, while making an entry, I did a mess with the private/fo settings and even when I made it visible it didn't show on anyone's FL. Incidentally, it was also the entry with my birthday wishes for elise_509 , which made the fail even more fail. So, first thing, happy late birthday! Sorry about the lateness but hey, I had done my homework. ;) Seriously, I hope that you had a great day and that next year gets better job wise and moving-wise. And that generally everything goes great for you because you deserve that 100%. ♥ With also hope for some shirtless Jack in the Lost finale and Sam getting his hair cut next season. ;) And if you want to prompt me I'll see what I can do.

2. This said, reposting some memes I had in that same entry. #1, from mothergoddamn: Comment and I will give you ten actors and ten actresses. Then post in your Livejournal with your favourite films of theirs.

Clint Eastwood -> auuugh. THIS IS HAAARD, DAMMIT. HOW AM I FUCKING SUPPOSED TO CHOOSE? Okay, let's make a deal. Out of the ones he didn't direct: tie between For A Few Dollars More and Thunderbolt And Lightfoot. Out of the ones he directed: A Perfect World. Which was a hard as fuck choice but it's perfect. PERFECT.
Jack Nicholson -> much easier. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. ♥
Dennis Hopper -> Easy Rider.
James Dean -> *ponders* duh, Rebel Without A Cause. (East Of Eden was too different from the book, albeit awesome too. XD)
Humphrey Bogart -> Casablanca. It isn't my second-favorite movie for nothin'. <3
Jim Carrey -> The Truman Show.
Keanu Reeves -> most def. My Own Private Idaho even if I hate his character.
Bruce Willis -> weeell. If we're talking about movies where he wasn't the lead, then Pulp Fiction. But if we're talking about movies where he's the lead, Die Hard all the way.
Steve Buscemi -> Reservoir Dogs, thank you. ♥
John Cusack -> High Fidelity.

Elizabeth Taylor -> probably Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.
Vivien Leigh -> A Streetcar Named Desire
Julia Roberts -> probably weird choice but.. Mary Reilly.
Tilda Swinton -> Broken Flowers, though it'll probably change the day I manage to understand where the hell did my Edward II dvd end up so that I can finish it.
Susan Sarandon -> Thelma & Louise ♥.
Sarah Jessica Parker -> either Mars Attacks! or Ed Wood.
Gwyneth Paltrow -> Seven.
Cate Blanchet -> I'm Not There.
Meryl Streep -> The Bridges Of Madison County ♥.
Kristin Chenoweth -> eee, I checked on IMDB and I realized I've seen her just in TV stuff. Can I say Pushing Daisies? ;)

3. Meme #2, aka the icon meme VERY late.

001. Reply to this post, and I will pick six-eight of your icons.
002. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
003. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
004. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee.

From wandersfound:

1. by me: that's my Des/Penny icon which has been there since S4. I had one for the telephone call and one for the reunion kiss once but at one point I needed icon space so I just made one that comprehended them all. I actually really like how it came out...

2. by oxoniensis: so, I suck at choosing ships that actually live. Because my Chuck OTP is Bryce/Chuck and I wanted an icon for them and that one is just gorgeous. I love the cropping and the coloring and everything else. Apart from the fact that Bryce is dead. :/

3. by hugmybrain: God, I love this one SO much. I had had my eye on it for ages and I totally snagged it when I bought more icons last time, lol. It's just.. the composition is gorgeous, the coloring too, the text too and it works so well for Sam/Dean or the gen version of it. I looove it.

4. by gigglemonster: JIMMY ;___; this is probably one of my favorite SPN moments ever. When Jimmy says yes... just... ;____; I love that episode like woah, it's probably my favorite too, and that icon is especially gorgeous. I love the b/w and the text and just, he looks so happy as he says yes. He didn't really know. JIMMYYYYYYY. *cling*

5. by [Bad username: moetushi"]: that'd be my Good Omens quote icon. First: I love the composition. Second: THAT QUOTE. <3

6. by raikune: short explanation: OTP of OTPs (Roland/Eddie from the Dark Tower series) needed an icon. That's one quote. You will realize that I has reasons to ship it.

From bold_seer:

1. by trutdelamode: this will probably sound awful, but: I realized I needed an icon with Claire ages ago, but I don't, er, like Claire enough to get an icon just with her. Oops. So I went with one which had Boone too and it's so very pretty and I love that promo. The end.

2. by beauvelvet: Casablanca is my second-favorite movie and I needed an icon, so when I bought myself space I went searching for one. This is so pretty and it kind of sums shit up since it's the last scene and it has Bogart in the trench & all. One day I'll get one with Renault too, lol.

3. by orangelusik: OH, THIS ONE. <333 Well. Current OTP + favorite SPN episode ever or close to it anyway = THIS. Apart from the colors and the cropping and the lightening which is gorgeous, I just love that scene so much. And the more icons from The Rapture someone has, the better. ;)

4. by rockingmyfaith: well, tbh I didn't need a second random Dean icon, but I saw this one in someone else's userpics and I really liked it so I snagged it. Idk but I just love the cropping here. And the light. It's so expressive and so very Dean, which doesn't make sense because it IS Dean but whatever.

5. by emily_reich: CASTIEL IN 5x18 IN THE ALLEY. DO YOU NEED EXPLANATIONS? Well, srsly, the coloring and cropping and placement is just gorgeous in this one and just, his face. I have too many Cas icons, I fear, but I <3 him and I love this one too.

6. by elea24: well, this is a very pretty icon. I love the cropping and the structure. But mostly, Faramir = my favorite LOTR character ever and I missed having an icon with the guy, lol. Even if while I do love David Wenham to pieces I'll always hate them for not making him with black hair as he was in the books. Okay, hate is too much. Maybe not-exactly-like-them.

7. by mediocrechick: awww, this one. Which is my crying icon in addition to first Stand By Me icon. Premise: the movie was adapted from The Body which is my favorite short story by King and probably overall, and that always was one of my favorite scenes both in the book and in the movie (which was an awesome adaptation actually). Also, River Phoenix. ♥

8. by me: pff. I like Shannon. A lot. So I got myself a Shannon icon. I ended up choosing one I made because I really liked how it came out. End of story. ;)

Also, a couple words re the linguistics icon () since you asked: while I do not study linguistics, I spent high school studying both Latin and Greek and as soon as I saw that I was like IT'S SO RIGHT. Also, it works if I need a random porn/I-like-orgies icon. ;)

4. So, I've been out of town for two days for opera reasons. And since it was Mozart-opera-reasons, it was awesome. Hell, live Mozart is one of my favorite things. <3 Also, while out of town I found myself a beige trench coat. *cough* Which I had been kind of wanting since Casablanca times, and it was on sale. So. Another thing off the list I need to own in this life. Also, I got myself a new Zeppelin shirt, exactly the same as the one I already had, but that last one would have probably gone ripped if I washed it one more time.

5. The new Stone Temple Pilots record leaked. And I'm weak. And I love it. No new N.4, but it's so good. And I'm totally buying it as soon as it arrives here, which I hope isn't in two months. Then again you barely find STP records at all around these parts. Still, STP!! New record!! ♥

6. Expect a long and bitchy politics post in the next two days or so. Americans will probably guess what I'm talking about since even the US had something to say in regards of B.'s next law project which is so 1984 I can't even. If they need a foreign country to tell them that they're doing stuff which is so wrong on any aspect that it isn't even funny... well, I have a my country is hopeless tag for a reason.

7. I signed up for deancasbigbang. Not that I needed another challenge, but I realized that since they have a 10000 words minimum section and that Wings Of Desire AU which I had started for a 25000 words minimum wasn't ever going to reach either that or 20000, probably, I figured that since I had a good chunk of it written I could take the occasion and finish the damn thing. Yaaay me? Especially when I'm still finishing to edit the spn_j2 one. Thankfully it's almost done on that part. And I did progress on both the charity fics I still owe, yaaay for that at least.

8. This said, this entry was too long already and I am out of wise stuff to say, so bye for now?

9. ALSO DAMMIT LOST FINALE I DON'T KNOW IF I'M READY FOR YOU. *sigh* I thought I was but I'm not really that sure.

Okay, now I've gotta ask. ;) Which one did you see and which is your favorite?

At least we can be clingy and not ready and whatnot together. I don't know how I survived this long without fandom and lj.

Oh my, what a great list. ♥
the female ghost of tom joad: JEAAAARRRSSSSjanie_tangerine on May 22nd, 2010 08:34 pm (UTC)
Hee. The one I saw: Die Entführung aus dem Serail. My favorite: Die Zauberflöte. Which makes me absolutely coherent since I'm Italian, 90% of the opera around is in Italian and my favorite is Mozart and my Mozart/overall favorite is in German. But hey. Not a nationalist. ;)

OH YES WE CAN. And really, fandom + lj = *CLINGS* I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'D DO WITHOUT EITHER. Watching the whole shebang alone would be sooo not fun.

And good to know you approve of the list! *goes waiting in her corner for answers* <33

Very cool. And yeah, Die Zauberflöte is probably my favorite Mozart opera, too. :)

... your icon might have just made me tear up. Oh, God, I can't do this. LOOOOOST! ;__;

Btw: I'm sure I forgot something important, but I posted my list.

Heee, awesome! *high fives* God, it's so awesome when you find someone who actually likes opera. *cough* <3

And yay! *goes to see*

First off, you have awesome movie tastes and I want to do the actor/actress meme as well.

Secondly, I've never been to an opera before, but I so wanna go to one someday. And Mozart = win. Also, Zepplin shirt and beige trench coat? You are awesome.

And lastly, yay! I'm excited about you signing up for deancasbigbang.
the female ghost of tom joad: supernatural dean/cas finale #2janie_tangerine on May 23rd, 2010 08:59 am (UTC)

And thank you! :D I'm positive I'll manage that. Hey, I already am waaay close to the minimum.. ;)

You gave me some toughies, but I got it done and my list's up.

I do hope I get the oppourtunity to go to an opera one day. It's on my list of things to do someday.
