weekend with family - such a joy! + stuff
So, I'm leaving tomorrow until Monday to go visit the family for the Easter holidays. Since I'll be leaving in the morning, even if I manage to watch Lost I probably won't be able to make a review post and thus I'll become a LJ striker, too. And seeing that I get the show usually from a community which strikes tomorrow, it isn't even sure that I manage to watch it and that'd be not good, since the only things that I manage to do when I go there are reading, writing and watching the cable I don't have at home. Regarding that, my programs are, not necessarily in this order, sorting out my university notes (the serious ones), finish to read Slaughterhouse Five and at least another book I still have to choose and try to decide what to make of my notebook where I make fic notes between lectures. Oh, and catching the Judging Amy reruns on the cable because 1 I need me some Adrian Pasdar, 2 I need trials to mock. and 3 I can't help liking it even if it's damn cheesy. I'll definitely look forward to catching up on Monday! Four days shouldn't be too bad ;)

This has nothing to do with the previous paragraph whatsoever, but has anyone here read the latest Stephen King, Duma Key? It was out here last week or so and while I read everything he puts out or at least I try, the hardback is really too much for a single book and unless it's excellent I'd rather wait for the paperback. After The Dark Tower, I refused to read Cell because the cellphones-zombies idea looked completely idiotic to me and the reviews weren't that great, but I loved Lisey's Story (for which I'm glad I got the hardback) and I liked Blaze enough but it wasn't worth the hardback price. So I'd love some Duma Key impressions, if anyone's got any. If I decide to wait I'll just buy myself The Shining and the English edition of The Stand (which of course had to be the last English book I read translated and now I'd really like to see how it was in original..) and I'll spend less anyway.

And since I haven't done a proper entry in two weeks and didn't get the chance to say it, I'm absolutely thrilled and mostly thankful for The Halls of Craphole Heaven winning at lost_fic_awards. Me and your friendly dead people fill with glee and give our heartfelt thanks ;)

Mh, guess there really isn't anything more to add... I'll just cross my fingers for finding the Lost torrents tomorrow morning. And if I don't, at least I'm not in danger to get spoiled since even if I manage to check the mail before Monday (unlikely but could happen) I won't manage to check the FL anyway.

So happy easter everyone for now and give me something good to catch up when I'm back ;)

Yay, I am! I'm up at part five and I'm totally loving it. It's pure genius and I can't wait to see how it goes. I'll sure finish it from when I'm back! ;)

Oh, and BTW, I'd love to hear what you think about 1984 when you read it, I remember that you had it in plan ;)

Buona Pasqua anche a te! E la cioccolata è off limits purtroppo ;)

Aw, Cell was great. At least I loved it. I haven't read any of his other recent stuff though. . .

Oh now that's interesting! I didn't read it because I tend to prefer him when he does not... well, blatantly horror stuff (like, I think he's better at Different Seasons stuff than at Tommyknockers stuff), but I could always check it out with a good review ;)

Lisey's Story was excellent, IMHO. Blaze, uuhm, maybe it was because I had already understood what was going to happen and how it was going to end at page 3, though it wasn't bad. Duma Key, IDK a thing ;)

Congrats on your win!

I will miss being able to squee (hopefully - it will be another good one!) with you until next week. I hope you have a good break and come back refreshed with organized notes and renewed love for Pasdar.

Cell was pretty bad. The first few chapters were good, the middle was okay and the ending was awful. I hadn't read a new King book in a decade and I don't think I ever will again. Dark Tower is now on my night table to start whenever I finish my current book. I hope you enjoy Slaughterhouse 5. I read it in the fall and really enjoyed it.

So until next week, Happy Easter!

Thank you!

Let's hope for all three! I've got a torrent going right now and if it speeds up maybe I could manage to leave a few comments and see it while I finish packing, though I'm doubting it. But let's hope for it ;)

Aurgh, about Cell, exactly what I suspected. I guess that is his usual route when he isn't inspired :/ about his latest stuff, Lisey's Story was worth reading, the other ones, meh :/

Yay, can't wait to see what you think about The Dark Tower! I've got The Shining in program for when I come back, since I wasn't able to find it yesterday.

Thanks and have a lovely one, too!

God your header is just fabulous.

Have a Happy Easter and a great time with the fam! Sounds kinda relaxing actually - finishing the book and everything.

When you get back, I'll have posted my Jack vid by then so hopefully that will be something cool to come back to! Its to an amazing Foo Fighters song.

Anyway. *hugs*

It's all in the subjects *sighs*

Thank you! Uuuhm, it is relaxing when you don't count my five and three year old cousins which usually prevent me from doing the above but let's hope I manage ;) thanks so much, I can't wait to find the threat when I'm back!

E infine... Buona Pasqua! Ci sentiamo al tuo/mio ritorno! :)

Another King fan? Yay! ;)

Thank you, I had the idea but it's definitely good to have a confirm. I'll wait for the paperback then, I know I wouldn't miss that out anyway. He's my guilty pleasure, nothing to do about it..
